DeeDee Wach, age 19, was a young mother with a small daughter living with her parents at the time of her death. She was returning home from work at approximately 10:45pm on the night of December 13, 1988. According to victim and witness reports, she was getting out of her vehicle at 3651 West Thunderbird Way (4850 South), Salt Lake County, Utah when another vehicle stopped in the roadway in front of her residence and a person(s) were asking her for directions. Dee Dee walked to the end of the driveway and was talking to the inhabitant(s) of the vehicle when witnesses reported hearing gun fire. DeeDee was shot in the chest but managed to make it to the front door of her home where she collapsed. She died a short time later as a result of the gunshot wound.
