RIVERTON - The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Unified Police Department are pleased to announce their joint participation in this nationwide program at Easter when gifts are delivered to children with special needs. The goal of the National Sheriffs’ Association is to reach as many children as possible across the entire nation. Participating in this effort is “The Easter Bunny Inc.”, which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a visit from the Easter Bunny bringing joy and comfort to children across the United States.
The Sheriff’s Office has selected Jordan School District’s Kauri Sue Hamilton School to be the recipient of the visit this year. The Kauri Sue Hamilton School is a school for students with severe multiple disabilities. The land was donated by Cletus and Sharon Hamilton in gratitude for the education Jordan School District provided for their daughter Kauri Sue. We would like to thank Jordan School District for allowing us to visit their campus and provide gift baskets to these deserving students.
At 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, Sheriff Jim Winder, along with members of both the Sheriff’s Office and the Unified Police Department, will assist the Easter Bunny with the delivery of these gifts.
Please come and join us! Sheriff’s Office and Unified Police Department members will be available for photo opportunities and brief interviews as they meet with the children. I hope to see you there.
