Lateral Police Officer

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • No Felony Convictions
  • No DUI Convictions in the past two (2) years
  • No illegal drug use in past five (5) years
  • No Marijuana use in the past two (2) years
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Utah driver’s license or ability to obtain a valid Utah driver’s license by time of hire
  • Minimum of 1-year work experience as a certified Law Enforcement Officer (LEO Status), within the last 3 years
  • Passing NPOST score of 85% or better
  • No NPOST Requirement
  • No PT Test Requirement

Timeline (Dates subject to change depending on number of applicants)

  • May 26 thru July 7, 2017: Application period
  • July 10 thru July 14,2017: Sheriff/Chief Interviews
  • July 17: Publish Register
  • July 25: Certified Register
  • July 25: Conditional Offers / LESI / Background Investigations
  • September 18 thru September 22, 2017: Background Interviews
  • October 2: Final Offers
  • October 2 thru October 19, 2017: Drug Screening / Medical Exams
  • October 20, 2017: Hire/Start Date

Out of State Candidate Timeline

Oral Interviews will be conducted at the same time July 10 thru 14 at the candidate’s conveyance and can be conducted via skype if necessary.
