The City of Taylorsville partners with UPD for sixty police officers in addition to three civilian staff members. This includes patrol, investigations, traffic enforcement, directed enforcement, street crimes, special operations and a full-time school resource officer at Taylorsville High School.

The City of Taylorsville Precinct focuses on outstanding customer service, professionalism, efficiency and the resolution of law enforcement issues through pro-active policing. The Precinct also works with area Neighborhood Watch groups to create a partnership between the community and law enforcement. This catalyst helps reduce crime and assists in maintaining pride in the community. In addition to Neighborhood Watch, the Precinct focuses on school and civic programs; including drug awareness, bullying, gang awareness and the principles of integrity, self-esteem and civic involvement.
