33 pounds of Marijuana and 40 vials of Steroids were seized during the service of a no-knock search warrant in Sandy. UPD SWAT served the warrant for UPD Narcotics with assistance from the K9 Unit.
The UPD Millcreek Precinct is accepting donations of new, warm clothing, food, cash donations and gift items to be given to families in need in the community.

Metro Gang Unit (MGU) detectives arrested a suspect wanted for questioning in a recent Millcreek homicide. As a result of the arrest a warrant was served in which drug paraphernalia, check forgery items, and stolen property were recovered.
Methamphetamines, Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were seized during the service of a no-knock search warrant in Riverton. UPD SWAT served the no-knock warrant and arrested a suspect at the location. This was the third time the residence has been served this year.
UPD and Sandy PD served a search warrant in Murray and jointly recovered over $12,000 in stolen property including a Harley Davidson Motor Cycle and motorized go carts.
The UPD hosted a launch event for their partnership with Vickie Walker's Circle the Wagons Wednesday at the Sheriff's Office Building. Circle the Wagons is a non-profit organization that offers support to the victims of violent crimes and their families. Included in the Circle the Wagons program is a small tin containing a 96-hour survival guide listing various resources and lemon drops.
[From Salt Lake Tribune] One man is dead and another in critical condition after a shooting late Sunday night.
Police responded to an 11:36 p.m. report of yelling followed by shots fired near the Murray Ridge Apartments, 440 E. 4100 South. When they arrived, they found a 35-year-old man dead in the parking lot, said Unified Police Department Lt. Justin Hoyal. While investigators were trying to determine what happened, they received a call from Intermountain Medical Center reporting a 27-year-old man had come in for treatment of gunshot wounds.

A UPD detective was investigation a case that occurred in Millcreek on November 6th. As a result of her investigation she was able to learn the identity of the suspect and his vehicle. After issuing an "Attempt To Locate" to numerous agencies the suspect was taken into custody by the West Jordan Police. UPD detectives were able to get a full confession from the suspect to numerous burglaries including ones in Millcreek, Provo, Ogden and Orem.
While searching the suspects residence and vehicle ALL of the stolen property from all four agencies/locations was recovered. In total there was an estimated $12K to $15K in equipment recovered. The Suspect was booked into Utah County Jail as the majority of the equipment was from the Orem/Provo burglaries. This was an OUTSTANDING bit of police work by the UPD Detective and a great team effort to get this suspect captured and the property recovered.
