Taylorsville Police Department
The Taylorsville City Police Department was formed on April 1st, 2005. Officers were hired from existing agencies within Utah as well as Alaska, California, and Idaho. Many of these officers have extensive experience in law enforcement from Patrol Operations, Investigations, Community Outreach, Narcotic Enforcement, Traffic Enforcement, and Crime Scene Management.
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Taylorsville City Police Department to work with the citizens of our community to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility and community commitment. By working together our community will be a better place to live, work, and recreate. This teamwork effort is the move of the future.

Working with the Unified Police Department
The Taylorsville Police Department has partnered with the UPD to provide shared services that expand their ability to function in a variety of situations in a way that's cost-effective for Taylorsville residents. These additional shared services include:

- Crime lab / forensics
- Property and Evidence
- Records
- Dispatch
- Crash Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR)
