Vehicle Burglary Suspects Captured in Kearns

K-2 Officer observed three sets of footprints in the rapidly falling snow, going south on Impressions Drive. The footprints would go to each car parked on the street and up into several driveways to the cars parked in them. He followed the prints on foot. He caught up with three suspects on Rockford Street and when challenged, one of the suspects stopped but the other two fled. Responding officers followed the tracks into a yard on Leprechaun Lane, where the two tried unsuccessfully to hide. Officers took them into custody. They had property from at least 2 victims with them. The cars they entered, on Impressions, Loder, Honeysuckle and Vista Point, had been left unlocked and the contents rifled through. Officers backtracked to locate victims but the falling and blowing snow soon obscured the perpetrators’ foot prints. The suspects admitted they were stealing out of cars. Two of the suspects were booked and the third was released to his custodian grandmother. At a few houses where cars were burgled, no one would respond to the door.

Outstanding proactive work by the Officers involved.
