About this case:
In April of 2009 a jury in the Third District Court found Billy Justin Charles, 32, guilty of the first-degree murder of Jamie Ellen Weiss. Jamie, age18, was found dead in the bathtub of the couple's mobile home on Aug. 7, 1996. Police were called out to the home on a report of a drowning, but an autopsy later showed Weiss died as a result of blunt-force trauma and asphyxiation. Weiss' death was deemed a homicide in 1996 but no arrests were made until 2007 when Charles was charged with murder, a first-degree felony. He is currently awaiting sentencing.
