About this case:
After a lengthy investigation Gerald Hicker, age 58, admitted in court to killing Barbara Gene Rocky.  Hicker had negotiated a plea agreement for a 5-year prison term in exchange for releasing information to Barbara’s family regarding her death. Hicker had been charged in the 3rd District Court with Criminal Homicide in the 1974 homicide of Barbara Gene Rocky, a 21-year-old BYU student.  Hicker had filed a missing persons report with the BYU Security at the time of her disappearance.  The following day Barbara’s body was found above the Ledgemere Campground area in Big Cottonwood Canyon by a utility worker.  She died from multiple gunshot wounds.
