ABOUT THIS CASE:
Kirk, age 34, watched TV with his friend at his home located at 4212 S. 1300 W. on the night of September 10, 1988. Also present in the home that night were an employee/roommate that had a basement bedroom and a 13-year-old adolescent male also living with Kirk. Kirk’s female friend left at about 1:00am and the other roommates also retired to their bedrooms for the night.
The following morning at approximately 9:00am the adolescent male woke to find Kirk’s bedroom door partially open and his body in the bed. He had been shot during the night in his sleep.
Neither of the other two residents of the home reported hearing any noises during the night.
There were signs of a forced entry to the residence off the patio area.
