About this case:
Timothy, age 22, was a resident of Bountiful at the time of his death. He was last seen on the afternoon of February 23, leaving to make a drug purchase. Timothy’s body was found the following afternoon two miles up Millcreek Canyon at a turnout area by hikers. He had been shot multiple times. Stephen Wayne Anderson, contract killer and prison escapee, confessed to the crime and then later re-canted the statement. Ballistic testing, however, identifies his gun as being the one used in Timothy’s homicide. Anderson was convicted of another unrelated homicide in California using the same weapon. He was sentenced to death and executed on California’s death row in January of 2002. It is suspected that Anderson was hired to kill Timothy but there were others involved in the planning and possibly the commission of the crime.
