Case#86-29854 Case Status:Open
Date of Death: April 14, 1986
About this case:
Terry, age 25, was awakened to the sounds of someone at the front door of his home at 2049 E. Atkin Ave. at about 7:30 on the morning of April 14, 1986. Terry went to the door and there are indications he opened the door partially and then the door was forced the rest of the way open by the suspect. Terry pursued the suspect across the front lawn. It is not clear whether Terry was shot before or during the pursuit, but once Terry realized he’d been injured he returned to his house to inform the inhabitants that he’d been shot and needed help. He then went back outside where he collapsed near his front porch. Terry died later at the hospital as a result of his injuries. Witnesses say the suspect was a white male with short curly dark brown or black hair. He was described as being in his early 20’s, approximately 5’10,” and weighing about 160 lbs. He was possibly wearing a red stocking cap. After fleeing the scene the suspect was observed being picked up by someone in a light blue compact car.
