About this case:
Miguel, age 18, was last seen on August 14, 1982. He is believed to be either an El Salvador native or from Guerrero Mexico near Acatlan. He had been traveling back and forth from Salt Lake City, UT and Santa Ana, CA in the months prior to his death. His body was discovered by hikers in East Canyon near the Salt Lake County and Morgan County line in on September 4, 1982. He died as a result of a gunshot wound. He is believed to be the nephew or cousin to Emeterio Melgar-Hernandez whose body was also found under similar circumstances at approximately the same time but at a different location.
